About Us

Version28 was founded by a team of experienced entrepreneurs who have successfully built, financed, and exited businesses across various sectors. What began as a startup marketing agency quickly evolved into something much bigger.

As we worked with startups, we saw the potential in some and opted to take equity instead of cash for our services, creating our first investment portfolio.

We quickly realised our portfolio companies needed more than just marketing support, they required innovations for their business models, access to sales resource, financial expertise, and smart capital. Leveraging our networks and making key hires, we began offering these services, helping clients grow faster. This naturally led us to also invest directly and tap into our connections with angels and VCs to fulfil rounds, or work with debt providers where appropriate.

By late 2023, Version28 had pivoted into a full-fledged VC Accelerator. To underpin this, we welcomed Howard Miller as our CFO and Fleur Hicks as Consultancy Director, both bringing extensive investment experience.

Today, Version28 is focused on empowering founders and scaling businesses with the resources and capital they need to succeed.

Our People

Pete brings 20+ years of startup experience and deep insights into funding, sales and marketing. With a track record of multiple funding rounds, he quickly identifies gaps to accelerate growth.

Dave has more than 30 years experience as CEO for startup businesses, primarily in ICT. He has progressively specialised in business strategy, driving growth through key acquisitions and disposals.

Rob has more than 20 years experience in driving business growth through sales and marketing initiatives. He specialises in creating marketing teams and campaigns that adhere to budgets and improve ROI.

Howard brings extensive experience in financial services and fundraising, strengthening our financial strategy and investment initiatives. He has particular expertise in M&A and debt finance.

Fleur has built and exited from two technology companies in the private equity space. She has won countless entrepreneurial awards and uses her experience to identify where startups should invest their resource.

John has 30+ years of experience in growing successful companies. Having trained numerous sales teams, he proves how a clear sales plan and great attitude can move the needle for any young business.

Helen holds a PHD in Environmental Management from Oxford University. She drives ESG initiatives for Version28 and has been pivotal in growing our portfolio company i-Prove.

Wassim is a precocious young developer driving AI development for Version28. He has expertise in Generative AI with large language models and integrating with existing technology stacks.

Elliott brings extensive digital content creation experience from startups and his own ventures. Skilled in both short and long-form content, he crafts impactful designs, imagery, and messaging.

Sophie, with a diploma in Creative Media Production, specialises in creating visually stunning content. At Version28, she drives creative marketing and brand development for our company and clients.

Ross has 8+ years of experience in marketing management, working with multinational technology companies and startups across industries including tourism & travel and telecommunications.

Mickey has helped countless brands increase their revenue, largely by following the trail of data their ideal customer leaves behind and creating mechanisms to attract and convert them into paying clients.

Norm has over 30-years experience in sales, having worked in London as a financial trader for many of these. Norm oversees business development for Version 28 and its portfolio companies.

Neil is a dynamic sales leader with a passion for growth, learning, and helping others. A lifelong learner, he constantly seeks out new knowledge and experiences to challenge himself and broaden his horizons. 

Charlie has a background in finance and passion for sustainability. He has consulted for many household names and now helps our clients analyse their ESG position, and map a clear path to sustainable success.
